UI UX Designer

This full-time position (Monday to Thursday - we dont work Fridays) is a key role in digiLabs Product team, collaborating with the rest of the team to create user-friendly interfaces designed to enhance the appeal and useability of The Uncertainty Engine.

What were looking for:

As well as good industry experience in a UX/UI design role developing a web-based product, we are looking for somebody who works well within a team and is comfortable in a fast-changing environment. We work on a very collaborative basis both within the technical team and with other internal stakeholders (marketing, engineers) so a positive teamworking spirit is key. Familiarity with agile working practices, though not a necessity, would be an asset.

In technical terms, were looking for somebody with:

  • Demonstrated experience working on one or more web products/services.
  • Familiarity using design tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and InVision.
  • An understanding of user journeys, including user-centric design principles and methods (such as wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mock-ups) and conducting user research and testing
  • Some experience with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript, if possible

.but wed also value any of the following:

  • Experience with motion design and animation tools.
  • Familiarity with front-end development frameworks (e.g., React/Typescript)
  • Experience with design systems and component libraries.
  • Knowledge of information architecture and interaction design.
  • Understanding of SEO principles and web analytics

Specifically, key aspects of the role will include:

  • Communicating effectively with a range of internal and external teams to design, develop, and maintain high-quality user interfaces.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
  • Create great wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design ideas.
  • Maintain and update design systems and component libraries.
  • Collaborate with product management to understand and translate business requirements into design solutions.
  • Work closely with our frontend developers to create designs that are robust to software-engineering constraints.

Location:

This is an office-based role - we are a strongly integrated team, who believe in the effectiveness of onsite working.
